Drinking the Kool-Aid « Thread Started on Jul 15, 2007, 1:42pm »
It wasn't really unusual for the few selected people, or more precisely aurors, to go have a drink after a long day. Today there were too many reports of Death Eater activity, and almost none of them were real. People started to be paranoid, something Selene could enjoy if it didn't mean a ton of work for her. Each stupid report meant not only going out to deal with the problem, but also paper work. If Selene had it her way she'd strangle all the cowards.
Apparating to Hogsmeade they entered the three broomsticks and got a free table, after what everyone ordered a drink. Selene herself ordered fire whiskey, she never had problem with drinking alcohol. After all she learned from the best. Her father could drink an entire bottle of fire whiskey and the worst thing that could happen was that he was a bit too loud the next few hours.
Out of the group of aurors she was also no doubt the best looking, at least from female's. And to her luck the crappy excuse of an auror, Tonks, had something else to do than spend time with them. Personally Selene really disliked the pink haired woman, she already had her on her black list when it will come to fighting. For now though she just smiled and laughed with her fellow aurors, pretending to have fun.

Raphael stood outside the bar, staring up at the sign sceptically. Even though his face wasn't known to the Aurors or the Enforcement, Raphael had a right to be anxious about going in: Death Eaters who waltzed into bars didn't often waltz back out. They where lucky if they exited in a normal fashion.
Sighing, Raphael made up his mind and walked into the pub. Inside it was as busy as usual: Almost every table taken, with only 2 barstools free. Quickly, Raph pushed himself into one of them, with the other empty stool to his right and a fat, balding wizard to his right, who had a strong odour of onions around him.
Raphael called the barman over, and ordered himself some ale. While he waited, he looked around the bar, and stiffened when he saw his fellow Death Eater Selene Turner sitting around a table with a fair sized group of people. Raphael recognised some of the faces immedietly: Aurors. A work night out for young Selene then...
Raphael tried to catch her eye, and mouthed the word 'Traitor!' at her, before winking, to show it was in jest. At that moment, the barman came with his drink, and Raphael sipped deeply from it, his eyes never leaving Selene.

Although Selene was a Death Eater at heart, she couldn't help but love the danger in playing it at both sides. Sure, her loyalty was with the Death Eaters all the way, she just still worked for the ministry only to gather information for the dark side. And it was one of the few jobs in which you couldn't get really bored. Which was probably one of the only reason Selene took the job after graduating.
As she was near done with her drink one of the fellow aurors striked up a conversation with her, about the recent reports. Being the polite person she 'was', she got into a meaningless chat, it wasn't only her who was slightly pissed about all the extra work. The difference between her and the rest of her company was that they were also afraid. But not Selene,. she was well safe what with being on the other side.
That was when she caught the eye of a fellow Death Eater, Raphael Alexandros. His little jest made her smirk before she politely excused herself and walk to the bar, as if to order a new drink. As she stood next to him ordering a drink she glanced to the side and gave him a playful wink.

Raphael grinned widely as Selene came over to the bar, and stuck his tounge out at her when she came over. "Tsk tsk tsk... Still fratanising with these blood traitors, are we, Selene?". He turned so his back was to the Aurors, and leaned forward so he could whisper in her ear.
"I do hope you're not planning to chain me up and throw me in a cage just yet.", he whispered, smiling. "I mean, I do think we should at least wait until midnight before those kind of shenannigans...".

As he stuck out his tongue at her she couldn't help but chuckle, sometimes he could be rather amusing. Which she liked, but so far she wasn't sure just where he stood on her list. Sure she liked him, but she wasn't sure just how much. So far she couldn't tell that she loved somebody, she wasn't even sure if it was love that she felt for her parents. But she was sure she kinda liked him. "You bet. Though I have to admit some of them are getting on my nerves." She replied jokingly, though quiet enough so that only he would hear.
At his next comment she had to throw him a cheeky, mysterious smile, at the moment not caring that she may have been watched by her fellow aurors. To everyone else this might only have seem like two people flirting, which was even kinda true. "Oh you wish." She gave him a cheeky retort, taking the new drink bartender brought her. "Cheers to that."

Raphael grinned at Selene as she chuckled and ran a hand through his hair. Even with being a Ministry worker, Selene was awfully popular at HQ - Particularly among the male recruits. It often took Raphael to assure them that, if he couldn't get her, the rest had no chance. Not, of course, that Raphael went out of his way to conquest women - This was more his way of saying, 'I saw her first.'.
Shaking himself from his thoughts, Raphael glanced back at the aurors and tutted. "I really don't know why you continue to fratinise with these people, Selene, Even His Snakey-ness is getting annoyed by it.". Strangely for a Death Eater, Raph was not afraid to mock Voldemort - Indeed, he reveled in it.
A particularly fat auror caught his eye, and Raphael whispered to Selene, "If I killed tubby there, d'you think the rest would notice, or...".

Selene knew she couldn't keep her double life forever, one day she'd have to stand on the side she really supported. And that side was of course with the death eaters. For now though she loved the thrill of danger in having two faces she showed the world, one of the charming mask and the other her inner evil pregnant dog. One of them, she learned to use to get what she wanted, the other was raised by her very parents.
At Raphael's questioning of her reasons she just smiled slightly, taking a sip of her fire whiskey. "You know what they say, keep your friends close and your enemies even closer. This way I can spy on the ministry, and ultimately I hope to spy on the order. I don't doubt that when I'm gonna get inside info on the enemy even Dark Lord's annoyance will vanish." She replied quietly, enjoying just the thought of it. Only the death eaters knew she was on their side, which allowed her to spy, which was a game she loved.
When he mentioned the quite fat auror she grinned, her inner pregnant dog taking control. "Oh I think they'd notice right now. You can have tubby when the time comes, but there is a certain pink haired excuse of an auror I'd like to finish off myself." She whispered back, showing her dislike for Tonks. Nobody knew though why she hated the other woman. Mostly the reason was that she envied the fact that such a mixed blood witch had a power like that, to change her appearance at will. And what pissed her more was that she used it for silly things like changing hair color.
